                           Famous “Spear Pie” Competition
Historical records tell us of a great pie feast to celebrate the Anglo-Saxon victory at Stamford Bridge. It is said that the pies were made in the shape of a tub, resembling the boat which sailed beneath the bridge to slay the mighty Viking defender. We now retain this tradition by holding an annual competition. The entry should be a traditional meat pie (some sources say it should also contain fruit). Competitors may use their imagination to decorate the pie to capture the tradition of the event. Why not give it a go?

Entries should arrive before 12 noon on the Saturday for 2pm judging. Entry is free.
